New Rockford Library

For those of us who attend the regular Thursday meetings, it has been interesting to watch the construction progress on the new Rockford Public Library across the street from Memorial Hall.  If you want to learn all about the new library. then be sure and attend our June 9th meeting.  Our presenter will be Anne O'Keefe, who is the Assistant Director of Community Engagement for the Library and she will give us all the information about what the new library will look like and when it is expected to open.
Anne has worked for the Rockford Public Library since September of 2016 when she took the position of Development Officer.  In March of this year, she was appointed as Assistant Director of Community Engagement, her current position.  Prior to joining Rockford Public Library, Anne was President and CEO of the Rockford Area Arts Council for almost 12 years.  Before that she was the Director of Development for the St. Vincent de Paul Center from 1997 to 2004.  While she was with the Arts Council, she was a columnist for the Rock River Times, covering the arts in the Rockford Region.
Anne graduated from Boylan Catholic High School and received her BA in English Language and Literature from Northern Illinois University.
She is active in the local community, especially in the arts area.  She is a founding member of the West Side Show Room and continues to be active with the organization.  She is also a member of Americans for the Arts and the Arts and Economic Development Council.
This will be an interesting and informative program and one to invite a prospective member or guest.  They can join us in person at Memorial Hall or via zoom.  Dennis Horton will introduce our presenter and act as Rotary Host.
