June 20th Program

 

 

 

     On Thursday, June 20, 2019, Rockford Rotary will celebrate the contributions of four individuals in our community with Service Above Self Awards.  One organization will be presented with the Mary-Stuart Carruthers Community Impact Award.  This is the first year for this award which came about because of Mary-Stuart's 2018 efforts to recognize 8 high school students who organized the "March for Our Lives" event.  At that time, we had no way to recognize and "event".

     The evening begin with a cocktail hour - cash bar and "hearty" appetizers - followed by the beginning of our regular Rotary meeting at 6:00 PM.  Once our regular business meeting is complete, the award program will begin.  This is also the first time the Service Above Self Awards program has been moved to an evening so that we will have more time to appreciate our awardees and their accomplishments.  We anticipate that the evening will end by 7:30 PM.

     This event will take the place of our regular noon meeting and signing in, getting your badge will be the same.  The cost remains at $15.00 and will include the "hearty" appetizers and a complimentary alcoholic drink.  There will be many guest so members are also encouraged to bring guests.  This is one of Rockford Rotary's most prestigious events and this is an exceptional way for all of us to honor those receiving awards.
