January 9th Program

 

 

     Raymond W. Empereur, BA, MPA, is a retired public health executive with 27 years experience in the management of several local county health departments in northern Illinois, including in Winnebago, Whiteside, Lee, Will, Lake, and Boone Counties. His career also included 7 years as executive director of the Rockford Regional Health Council.

     In 2017 he received training for the Climate Reality Leadership Corps of the Climate Reality Project, lead by former Vice-President Al Gore. Following this training he formed the Northern Illinois Chapter of the Climate Reality Project with two other retired public health leaders, Mike Bacon, MPH, and Larry Swacina, MPH.

     Since forming in 2018 the chapter has grown to over 20 members and is presenting climate reality presentations throughout the greater Rockford area. Ray also authored Global Warming and Climate Change - A Primer (2017) which is found through Amazon. He is available to present a 20 minute side presentation on Climate Change produced by Al Gore.

     This will be an interesting and informative program on one of the most important current topics of discussion.  This will be an excellent opportunity to bring a guest or prospective member.  Beverly Broyles will introduce our presenter and act as Rotary host.
