Rockford Christian High School
Enzo Marcello
Enzo enjoys serving the community. In fact, he's logged more than 400 hours of community service as a high school student. He's volunteered at Discovery Center Museum, with the annual Rock River Sweep, and Helping Hands Food Pantry where he volunteers the first and third Saturday of every month. At Christian, Enzo is a four-year member of the Key Club, serving a secretary this year, as well as a four year member of the tennis team.
Enzo's love of the ocean and sense of responsibility for our natural resources has led him to pursue a major in Marine Science at the University of South Carolina, where he plans to continue his volunteerism.
Isabella Villacorta
Volunteer service is part of Isabella's life and helped her develop her future career plans. She plays piano in the worship band at her church, where she also helps with the children's ministry. Isabella is a weekly tutor at Mosaic, and a coach for the Junior Raptor soccer teams. At Christian, she is captain of the varisty soccer team and has served as Vice-President of the Key Club.
Through her volunteer experience, Isabella realized she has a passion for social justice, which led her to pursue a career as a lawyer for women's rights. She plans to attend Loyola University in the fall.
Roosevelt High School
Luis Arreguin
Luis has spent over 100 hours participating in volunteer activities that include mentoring elementary school students, collecting trash in the neighborhood, helping at Stroll on St5ate, and organizing family fun nights. At Roosevelt, Luis is a Student Ambassador, a role he loves, helping at school events and wherever he is needed in school.
During his first two years of high school, Luis attended Guilford where he was part of the cross cou ntry and track teams, performed in the fall play and spring musicals, and was a member of the fashion club.
Luis plans to attend Rock Valley College and major in Fashion Merchandising.
Tyesha Bingham
At Roosevelt, Tyesha has developed leadership skills and fell in love with course work pertaining to law and service. She's volunteered at Spectrum Progressive School, helping younger students select and wrap Christmas gifts for their parents. She has also worked with students at Haskell ELementary, helping them learn patience and how to work together on a school improvement project. Tyesha spend many hours setting up and helping at Stroll on State. Plus, she is a great mentor to her peers, encouraging them toward graduation.
Tyesha's gola is to become an attorney and to continue to help those in need.
