Jennifer Muraski is a successful former small business owner and current community leader dedicated to the enrichment and sustainability of Winnebago County and its residents.  A life-long resident of Rockford with an unparalleled drive for providing compassionate guidance to families during times of loss and grief.

     Jennifer is a 27-year Licensed Funeral Director and Embalmer in the states of Illinois and Wisconsin, graduated from Worsham College of Mortuary Science with a Mortuary Science Degree.

     Jennifer's work experience includes several positions with Olson Funeral & Cremation Services in Rockford; owned Muraski Monument Company in Rockford; owned Adept Funeral Staffing Solutions, Inc. in Rockford.  On August 11, 2022, she was appointed Director of Operations for the Winnebago County Coroner's Office to replace Bill Hintz who resigned as coroner.  She ran for coroner in the November 8, 2022 election and took office on December 1, 2022.

      Jennifer is active in the community with such organizations as Winnebago County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate), Winnebago County Health Department, Santas's for All (formally Santas for Solitary Seniors), and the Executive Director of Safer Citizens, Winnebago County.  In addition, she is affiliated with numerous professional organizations.

     Jennifer will discuss the various duties of the coroner's office and her plans for the future.  This will be an interesting and informative program and one to invite a guest or prospective member to join us in person in Memorial Hall or via Zoom.  Janine Idstein will introduce our presenter and act as Rotary host.

 

Our April 13th meeting will be a club assembly, led by President Eric.  We will also be holding an election for four directors of the Board of Directors.  This is important because these members will be leading the club for the next two years.  We will also be naming the President-Elect who will be President in 2024-25.  We would encourage all of our members to make an effort to attend this important meeting. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

11:45 – 1 Lunch at a local downtown restaurant to be determined

 

1:30 ~ 2:30 Tour of Indian Hill Manor, 6901 Kishwaukee Road. We will have a tour of this lovely estate building with time for looking at the grounds. There is a suggested donation of $15.

 

 

 

 

5 p.m. – Womanspace Labyrinth, 3333 Maria Linden Drive at the Anjali Pavillion. Elaine Hirschenberger will give us a presentation about the development of the labyrinth. Then we will proceed to the site and walk the labyrinth.

 

6:15 – Dinner at Lucha Cantina, 1641 N. Alpine Road.

 

Both of these events are open to members and guests. If you cannot join us for the meal and event, please feel free to come to whichever is convenient for you.
