July 18th Program

     Karl is vice-president of Operations at Thayer Lighting & Solar.  Thayer has been helping Rockford Businesses save energy for over 30 years.  Advancements in LED and Solar technology have made opportunities to save better than ever.  Karl has been with Thayer for 8 years, focusing on: Designing LED Lighting and solar energy products; Specifying high quality solutions with utility and tax incentives; Educating on the financial and environmental benefits of LED lighting and Solar Energy.

     Outside of work, Karl recently joined the Supervisory Committee for Rock Valley Credit Union.  He is a member of both Leadership Rockford and Rockford Leadership Alliance of the Rockford Chamber of Commerce.  And from 2009-2011 he was a Volunteer Fire Fighter/EMT-B for the North Park Fire Department.

     Karl graduated from Harlem High School in 2000.  He received an Associates of Arts in Business from Rock Valley College and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from NIU.

     He is married to Santa Romero-Arvidson, a BSN at Swedish American Hospital.  They have two children, Judah who turns 1 this weekend and Callum who is 6.  In his spare time he enjoys spending time with family and watching Callum's soccer games.  He is also a fan of the Cubs and the Bears.

     This program is part of a traditional vocation program and an interesting and informative program about solar energy.  It will, as always, be a chance to bring a guest or prospective member.  Mary Ann Norwood will introduce our presenter and act as Rotary host.
