The Better Business Bureau was founded in 1912, focused on advancing marketplace trust, consisting of 106 independently incorporated local BBB organizations in the U.S and Canada. Dwayne Cushing will discuss some of the most common scams, where to find information and how the Better Business Bureau can help keep you from being a victim of a scam.

Severson Dells Nature Center

Harry and Fannie Severson loved nature. In 1975 to preserve their 369-acres family farm they donated the land to the Winnebago County Forest Preserve District, and the Nature Center opened shortly thereafter. The forest preserve feature 2.5 miles of self-guided nature trails, and a 2/3 mile hard-surface tratil that is accessilbe year-around. Ann Wasser, Director of Education and Research, will discuss how Severson Dells Nature Center, nutures the love of nature in the young and young at heart, including music and summer day camps. |

The Expo is an event that provides an opportunity for all Rockford Public Schools 9th graders to engage with area businesses to explore potential career opportunities and helps forge a relevant link between student curriculum and future careers. The event also helps students to make an Academy selection in January of their freshman year as each of the Expo booth hosts demonstrate careers that are in alignment with the RPS 205 career pathways offered within the Academy model. |
